Matthew Guild

Abilene Christian University
BS, Kinesiology
Matthew is a missionary kid who grew up in Mwanza, Tanzania, with his three younger sisters and their mission teammates. His first time to live in the U.S. was when he moved to Abilene to attend ACU, an experience that was challenging and encouraging in so many different ways. The biggest challenge was learning how to do school here in America, since he grew up going to a British International school, where the style of teaching and classroom dynamics were vastly different. His most encouraging experience was learning the hard lesson of trusting God, as he humbly witnessed God quenching all his fears and doubts to lead him into a deeper relationship.
Although he’s not sure yet where God is calling him, Matthew is exploring a growing passion for coaching and education. As a kinesiology major on the physical therapy track, his undergrad degree aligned with his passion to figure out how the human body works and to keep it running as God created it to. (He’s also a strong believer that rugby is the greatest sport ever known, and he is happy to discuss this with anyone willing to listen!) Missions is also close to Matthew’s heart as well, and he’s convinced they will be a part of his life for a long time.
While Matthew is open to many possibilities for work during his time as a fellow, he is most interested in finding a role that allows him to further explore possibilities for coaching and working with youth, whether that’s in a school or nonprofit setting. Check out Matthew’s résumé if you’d like to get to know him better or explore the possibility of hiring him!
Why is Matthew excited about being an Eden Fellow? Here’s what he had to say:
“I am excited to be in a vibrant community for Jesus, learning how to do life together. To find God in all aspects of life in people from different yet connected backgrounds.”

Liberty University
BS, Religion, Biblical & Theological Studies
Prairie College
MA, Church Leadership
Frank grew up in an orphanage in Kampala, Uganda. After high school, he left the orphanage and joined the Word of Life Africa Bible Institute. His year of biblical studies there was life-transforming, forming in him a commitment to lead others to Christ. As he studied with the goal of becoming a competent Bible teacher, though, the more he read, the more he began to understand that he was only scratching the surface. This propelled him to pursue higher education in biblical scholarship.
Frank is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity with a focus in missions in the Graduate School of Theology at Abilene Christian University. His hope is to return to rural areas of Uganda in order to plant churches that are integrated with primary and secondary schools so that children there will have access to education.
During his time as a fellow, Frank is interested in finding employment with a nonprofit organization or finding ministry or teaching role. Please take a look at his résumé if you would like to know more about Frank!
