Jared loves biblical languages and is excited to partner with ACU’s Center for the Study of Ancient Religious Texts (CSART) during his studies for an M.Div. and M.A. in Theology. He graduated summa cum laude as a McNair Honors Scholar and currently serves as vice president for the Alpha Chi National Honors Society chapter on campus. In his free time, Jared loves to play basketball, eat crawfish, teach kids at church, and stay up late talking about God with friends.
During his time with Eden Fellows, Jared has found employment as a teaching assistant, CSART scholar, and tutor, all of which gives him an opportunity to explore what life as a professor might be like. Check out Jared’s résumé.
Why is Jared excited about being an Eden Fellow? Here’s what he had to say:
“A fellowship with Eden was enticing to me because of how the program is brilliantly designed to engage students in an environment that dedicates their intellectual, professional, and spiritual lives to considering how Jesus fits into and defines them personally and communally. After knowing the program director and leadership team from their work at ACU over the past two years as mentors and friends, the ways they imitate Christ have impressed on me qualities that have positively impacted those three spheres while completing my undergraduate degree. And I am excited to see how enriching and formative my time with the Center will be as I prepare to partner with the Lord in my vocation and life in the church.
“‘For in him we live, and move, and have our being.’ (Acts 17:28) And through him I wish to be useful toward our precious Savior’s redemptive mission.”
